Well anyways it's about time that I write a blog right?!? To start off I want to say that it is has been a great morning today in Omaha, temperature a comfortable 65 degrees, no winds, and not to mention 348% HUMIDITY!!! Yes thats right, it really is that bad....it looked like I was driving through a mist machine on the way to school and people were acting like it was the end of the world!!! Which is why I was late to class...haha.
Anyways a lot has happened I went home for my elk hunt and got a great bull, it was so much fun and soo good to be home and see friends and family. I also got to go out to eat with Halie between flights in Salt Lake and that was so much fun as well!!! I shot my bull opening morning and between my dad on my left saying, "shoot him shoot him hurry get a bullet in your gun!!" and my brother Jeremy on my right saying "wait Jen, wait, wait, ok now shoot!!!" its a wonder I didn't miss! I had a blast though it was so good to be back in my mountains and away from the humidity. Also it was so much fun to spend time with my brother Jeremy like that. He is so freaking awesome and I love him to death. He spent so much hard work into this hunt and it was just as rewarding for me to see him so proud as it was to get that bull. Here are a few pics if you haven't already seen them:

Well nothing else really is happening lately, I love it here more and more every day! We went to a hypnotist show last night and my dumb head participated and most likely made a fool of myself...I know people have pictures that will slowly start to emerge so if they aren't too embarassing I will post them up so you all can take a look!
Peace and Love!

Tornados and cheese bricks...

Hello everyone,
I just got back from lifting weights and my arms are shakey and I'm starving but I decided to sit down and do this first because I promised my mom I would. (P.S. I have the best mom EVER)
So I bet you are all wondering about the headline "Tornados and cheese bricks" well my friends..let me tell you:
It was Saturday morning, (A very lovely morning might I add) and I was very excited about being able to sleep in. Now when I say sleep in I mean how college kids do it, we're talking like 11-12 at the earliest. So at about 10:00AM I dream, or at least think that I am dreaming, this very loud, annoying, on-going noise. It sounds like a broken ambulance that is stuck on just one pitch. Much to my surprise I awaken and realize that that noise is coming from outside and that it is in fact NOT a dream! So I got up out of bed and walked out onto my deck to look and see what the noise might be and I then realize that the noise is coming from all directions, like seriously the whole town is screaming. So I then realize further more that this is some sort of alarm, yep you guessed it, a tornado warning to be exact, but I will still very confused because it was a very nice day. I called my roomate and asked her what was going on and she just laughed at me and said that once a month they test their tornado warnings and that their was nothing to worry about!! haha yep, false alarm, sorry to those of you who were reading this and expected me to have been in a tornado but I thought that it was a story still worth telling. But at least now I know what to expect if their really is a tornado here only I'm a little worried because my apartment is on the 3rd floor.....maybe that is why rent was cheaper??? lol.

Now for the cheese, this is not really a story but something I just find very interesting. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND A LARGE BRICK OF CHEESE IN OMAHA. Seriously folks, I have checked 5 different grocery stores including the all famous Super Walmart and I just can't find one anywhere! I am forced to buy these little scrawny things that are gone in less that a week because me and Terra eat cheese like it is going out of style!! These Omaha poeple dont know what they are missing out on, there is nothing better than a huge slice of Tilamonk Sharp Chedder cheese..MMMMMMM.

Ok so now that is all off my chest...I fly home on Friday and I am very excited to do that and go kill me a MONSTER BULL ELK! WAHOO!! I just wish I could freeze time so I wouldnt have to miss any basketball or school cuz that totally sucks. Alsoly today I went to the dentist and had a root canal right there on the spot, I though that it was going to be just a check up but after he looked at it for mmmm bout 26 seconds he said "well, do you want to just do the root canal right now?" and I said, "ha...well sure why not..." It didn't take very long and wasn't that bad only my whole freaking face clear up past my nose was numb (I wish I had that stuff when I pierced my nose!) He showed me the dead nerve when he pulled it out and unlike the pink fleshy color that it is supposed to be, mine looked more like a chewed up black licorice jelly bean. yummy I know. BUt the good news about that is hopefully with all that yucky colored stuff out of there I wont have to get internal bleaching on my tooth! I will know for sure when I go back in 2 weeks and get the permanent filling put in.

YAY SPONGEBOB IS ON NOW!! No jokes people, that is what I do when Im not on my computer, in the gym, in class, or doing homework. I watch spongebob and take naps haha. Awesome I know :) Although I did talk to my advisor today about possible jobs. I think I am going to look into getting one as a Occupational Therapy Tech, that would be cool right? I think so.

hmm well that is probably all for now, other than my random stories and thoughts about cheese all other things that are happening (school, ball) are basically the same right now. With basketball we are busy trying to get all our gear ordered and fundraising stuff and that is about it. I am going to make beef stroganof hamburger helper stuff for dinner..oh and some corn on the cob. Hmmm I wonder if that is bad for my tooth?? i dunno.

love and peace!

I could get used to this blog stuff....

ya'll remember this?? Well if you don't, let me remind you...I took an elbow to the face and long story short, my right front tooth is still intact only DEAD and slowing but surely turning dark :( My reason for bringing this up is I got a dentist appointment for tuesday morning and hopefully I can fis it before its too late. I think I'll end up getting a root canal along with a few "internal bleaching" treatments but we'l see. Good thing Pratt Community College is going to pay for it so you bet your bottom dollar I went to a top of the line dentist...well at least I hope!!
SO what else...me and Terra went through our basketball closet and discovered that we don't have enough uniforms for everyone on the team (ghetto I know) and our budget is super tight. The twins on our team just happened to work at Walmart and have some hookups there adn since Walmart is required to donate so much money a year we are going to see if we can get a little of those donations that they have to make :) (actually I don't even know if I should call it a donation, I am sure that in the past month I have spent even more money at that place than they could ever dream of donating back to us!!) Well anyways along with this soap box if anyone wants to make a donate to Saint Mary Flames let me know hahahahhaa.
Right now I am sitting here with pieces of cheese on my stomache, and enjoying life. We scrimmage in the morning and then I have nothing to do... I really need to get a job...I hear Outback is hiring...
oh p.s. The time displayed when I write these is wrong, pretty sure it says I post it two hours earlier than I really do. Keep that in mind.
Peace and Love.

So I switched blogs..

So I switched to this blog site because its free..the one I was using I didn't know that you had to pay for it so I decided to start using this one. Anyways I am still figuring out how to work it all.
So practice is going good, Coach Brewer is a super nice guy...our practices are good and fun but so much easier than they ever were at Pratt. I don't know if that is a good or a bad thing..I am sure things will get more intense as the season gets closer.

I leave here to go back home for the elk hunt soon and although my coach is cool about me going, he says that he feels bad that I will be gone that long because I'm doing so good. I really like my new team so far. I feel like its a 300% better fit than I was with my team in Pratt. All the girls are great and I think we will be really successful this year.

well it's late and I cant concentrate anymore so until next time...

My Apartment..this is mainly for you mother dear :)

This is the stairs to my door, I have to walk up three of these things...

This is my door :)

This is after walking into my door. Kitchen and dining room on the left and living room on the right

one of my favorite places..the kitchen!!

The dining room and some taco bell and my computer and some stuff....(we are getting some picture thingies for right here but terra is in charge of that :))

down the hall, my room on the right, across from my room is the washer and dryer, then on the left is my bathroom, straight ahead is terra's room and her friends dog's butt and the door to her closet.

Terra's room (waiting to get a bedroom set)

Terra's bathroom and sink and toilet.

Terra's gigantic closet (we could fit a twin bed in there)

The opposite view as if you were walking back down the hall. There is the front door and a closet on the left.
Ok well there is my apartment, Mom I know you will be happy to see these.
Love you all,
JP

Omaha...a new beginning..

So...hey ya'll!! I have been thinking about doing this ever since I got here in Omaha. I know that I have kind of been all over the place lately and I don't want to be the niece, cousin, friend, daughter, sister, aunt and everything else, that no one ever see's or only hears about every once in a while. So I am going to try and keep this very up to date to kind of keep you all intertwined in my life one way or another. Keep in mind, that spelling, grammer and all that good stuff may deteriorate along the way...and that is fine :) I will have pictures up shortly and also try to keep them flowing in. OK, anyways let me try and update everyone. I got a scholarship to College of St Mary in Omaha, Nebraska to play basketball. I will be here for three years and will get my degree in Occupation Therapy. It is a smaller school right in the heart of Omaha and I am loving it so far. I have been here just short of 2 weeks and have an apartment with my friend Terra Moyers who also plays at CSM. I drove all 1100 miles alone and drove through the biggest rainstorm ever!! I think I got struck by lightening twice...no joke people. These midwest storms are crazy, I will tell you all about them in another blog later. Hmmm lets see what else, oh my apartment is freaking rad, it's two bedroom two bathroom and super nice. I will have pics up later. School is...meh school but my team so far is freaking rad. I am sure later their will be issues (their always is) but as of now we are all getting along great. Pre-season starts Sept 2 and we are all getting very excited...basketball is a long season but when it seems we are all craving it! I do miss my family but it is easier this year because I kinda already had an idea of what it would be like because I spent last year in good ole' Pratt, Kansas. I miss Zoie a ton and am not even going to get to see her when I go home for the elk hunt in September :( SAD DAY. hmmm...thinking of what else to say right now.... this is pretty general, I will get specific later I am sure.

A little about Omaha...with surrounding cities there is somewhere around a million, I really enjoy the whole city thing. I am a first timer with this stuff because Panguitch obviously isn't a city, Cedar isn't a big city by any means and Pratt was only about 6,000 people so yeah..

As of right now I am sitting here watching John and Kate plus 8 (My favorite show ever) and my friend Lindsey (whom I went to school with in Kansas and we both moved here without even planning it..i know weird :) ) just made dinner. We cook a lot here, trying to stay away from eating out all the time but I will predict we'll probably slack later. JIMMY JOHNS RULES! ok has to get that out of my system too. Ok well I am rambling so that is all for now. I have work study in the fitness center tomorrow which is also where we play ball and then class and then who knows what untill 8:45pm when we scrimmage.
